Honor Guard Management Course

Honor Guard program managers from across the Air Force attend the first-ever Honor Guard Program Management Course at the Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations Center at Dover Air Force Base, Del., June 15-17, 2010. Instruction during the course included training on the funeral honors database system, creating operating instructions, managing a budget, flyover request procedures, ceremonial support, weapons and ammunition handling and flag etiquette. Honorary commanders visit Center for Families of the Fallen

Mr. Trevor Dean, deputy commander of Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations, gives a tour of the Center for Families of the Fallen to honorary commanders of the 436th Airlift Wing at Dover Air Force Base. The center, which opened in 2010, provides families of the fallen with a comfortable meeting place to meet and gather in a home-like atmosphere before and after attending a dignified transfer. The center is part of the Campus for Families of the Fallen that includes a Fisher House and a meditation pavilion.
