Staff Sgt. Isata Tucker, a manager on duty at the Fisher House for Families of the Fallen, on Dover Air Force Base, Del., manages the facility on Dec. 12, 2016, ensuring that the property is always ready for use. The sculpture depicts a guardian angel holding and protecting a wounded soldier and serves as a quiet reflection on the sacrifices made by the nation’s fallen service members. A children's room created for children of a fallen service member, was dedicated Feb. 25 during a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new base chapel. The chapel annex is designed to accommodate families traveling to Dover to witness the dignified transfer of their loved one whose remains are returning to American soil.
