Mortuary Training
Ed Conway, Chris Schulze and Bob Glassheim, Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations mortuary specialists, explain the different urn and casket options during the virtual Mortuary Technicians and Officers courses at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware, Aug. 5, 2020. Families of fallen service members are able to select from wood or metal caskets, and if they elect to have their loved one cremated at the receiving funeral home, they will also receive a wooden or bronze urn. Urns are placed at the foot of the Dover Cremation Casket, a unique casket made with only 6 ounces of metal. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Alyssa Day)
