Senator visit

Sen. Chris Coons, (right) and Col. Thomas C. Joyce, (left) Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations commander, recognize Cory Larsen, AFMAO dignified transfer branch chief, during a recognition ceremony June 10, 2011 at the Charles C. Carson Center for Mortuary Affairs. Mr. Larsen received the Lt. Gen. Norm Lezy Award recently for his support of the mission. Sen. Coons stopped by the mortuary to thank the men and women for their service in honoring America’s fallen, commending them for their professionalism in providing dignity to fallen servicemembers. Attending a dignified transfer was the hardest thing the Delaware senator says he's done in his current position, he said. "I was profoundly challenged and moved by the experience."
