AFMAO sergeants receive top honors

DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Del. --  Two Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations sergeants have been recognized for their outstanding leadership and service.

Air Staff Directorate for Manpower, Personnel and Services recognized Tech. Sgt. Edwin Del Castillo and Senior Master Sgt. Tyrone Williams as 4th quarter award winners in the non-commission and senior non-commission categories.

Sergeant Del Castillo serves as the AFMAO education and training officer and has been in the Air Force for 17 years.

"It's a blessing and an honor to serve here," Del Castillo remarked.

Sergeant Williams is the Port Mortuary Operations superintendent and has 18 years of service.

"For me it's not about the awards," Williams said. "But it's about serving the fallen who lost their opportunity to receive anymore awards."

They will compete at the next level with Headquarters Air Force.

The sergeants were also recognized by AFMAO and selected as NCO and SNCO of the Year.
