Chief Master Sgt. Dorian O’Neal is the is the Senior Enlisted Leader and 8G100 Career Field Manager at Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations, Dover Air Force Base, Delaware. AFMAO delivers the Department of the Air Force’s worldwide mortuary affairs mission, operates its sole continental U.S. port mortuary, and sustains globally deployable mortuary response capabilities in support of military operations and national requirements.
Chief O’Neal advises and partners with the commander to lead the development, readiness, and resiliency of more than 100 military members and civilian personnel assigned to AFMAO. As 8G1 Career Field Manager, he manages 84 Air Force Base Honor Guard Program Managers spanning 64 installations, providing enterprise leadership, training, and force development to ensure a ready and highly capable honor guard enterprise.
Chief O'Neal’s Air Force journey began in 2004. Following graduation from Basic Military Training at Joint Base San Antonio Lackland in August of that year, he completed the Services Apprentice course, graduating with academic honors and setting the foundation for his career in force support. His background includes Food Service Technician, various duties in Services, Section Chief, Flight Chief, Services & Material Management, & Superintendent, Mission Support Flight with the 819th RED HORSE Squadron. His service spans 10 assignments including bases in Germany, Nebraska, Korea, Virginia, United Kingdom, Montana, and Florida; as well as 6 deployments in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, INHERENT RESOLVE, and FREEDOM SENTINEL.
Prior to assuming his current position, he served as Operations Superintendent, 6th Force Support Squadron, MacDill Air Force Base, Florida. A key duty position where he led 650 personnel, synchronizing 10 Flights and managing $220 million dollars in assets across 122 facilities in support of a 16.8-thousand-member workforce, 256 thousand dependents and retirees, spanning 2 wings, 2 CCMDs and 31 tenants.
