Mission
The mission of the Education and Training section of Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations is to develop a professional foundation enabling students to fulfill our global mortuary mission of ensuring dignity, honor and respect to our fallen and care, service and support to their families through quality education in a positive learning environment.
Force Support Contingency Training-Mortuary Course
This is a two-day course to better prepare mortuary lead and augmentee UTCs and selected active-duty members postured to deploy to Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations. The course will focus on dignified transfer procedures; command, control, and communications; dress and restoration; departures section; and support duties for families of the fallen.
Reporting Instructions
All units should respond no later than 60 days prior to training date. Members should allow one day travel to location and one day from location. Class is limited to 30 students and all classes are open to Air Force Reserve Command members.

Mortuary Officer Course
A five-day course designed to better prepare Force Support officers to handle the technical aspects of mortuary affairs. The course will focus on the procedures for care and disposition of deceased personnel, communications with the person authorized to direct disposition (formerly next of kin) and higher headquarters, escort and transportation of remains, entitlements and eligibility criteria, search and recovery operations, traumatic stress response management, mortuary contracts and working with funeral homes, honor guard, survivor assistance and family liaison officer and summary court officer duties.

Mortuary Technician Course
A five-day course designed to better prepare mortuary technicians to assist mortuary officers in handling the technical aspects of mortuary affairs. The course will focus on the procedures for case file management, administrative functions, search and recovery operations and honor guard.
